The Les Mées PV park, initiated at the end of May 2010 and completed in January 2011, brought in nearly 70 million euros in investments and got 350 people involved and mobilised to set up solar plants on the ground over a period of one year.
The site has 79,000 Trina Solar TSM-225/230PC05 modules on 36 ha (90 acres) of land, representing 18.2 MW of power (12 MW and 6.2 MW).
With an annual production of 26,000,000 kWh, this site, developed by Enfinity, will:
- - provide electricity for nearly 9,000 families a year,
- - avoid the production of more than 9,200 metric
tonnes of CO2 a year.

At the inauguration, the mayor of Les Mées stated, “The municipal team remains convinced of the need to fight against greenhouse gases. It is important for us to make our modest contribution toward the diversification of energy sources and to preserve our planet for future generations.”
Alongside the solar operations, an original approach also had to be adopted to preserve the landscape:
- - Development of a sheep grazing area through planting a
variety of wild grass - - the Trina Solar solar panels, set up in a system without any
concrete foundations, will be recycled at the end of their lifetime (20 years) to leave the land clean and exploitable for farming.
